The Bound Book
Every firearm that comes in and goes out is recorded in your acquisition and disposition record, with acquisitions entered promptly and dispositions recorded when the firearm leaves. Accuracy and timeliness are what inspections measure.

Reporting Duties
Report multiple handgun sales to the same buyer within five consecutive business days, and report theft or loss to ATF and local law enforcement within 48 hours of discovery. Record retention rules have changed with recent rulemaking — verify the current requirement rather than relying on older guidance.
Fees, forms and processing rules change through ATF rulemaking. Confirm current requirements with ATF and your state and local authorities before you file.
